"Thought it would be better for the price"
I ordered a Spartan hoodie and tee, they felt cheap as soon as I took them out of the package. I kind of assumed that higher price + official-looking merch meant decent quality, but that shortcut definitely failed me here. After just one wash, the print was already cracking and some of the seams looked loose. Disappointing overall, and I don’t see myself buying merch from here again...

I ordered from spartan.com and, the delivery took quite a bit longer than what it seemed like it would at checkout. Maybe I just had bad luck, but the tracking barely updated for days, so I was basically left guessing where the package even was.
When it finally arrived, the box was beat up, and by that point it was late enough that I didn’t really need the items anymore. I’m not sure I’d order again if this is a common shipping experience

"Community feels cliquey and support feels robotic"
I didn’t feel very welcome here. The community comes across cliquey, like everyone already has their little groups and new people are just kind of ignored. I also tried reaching out by email, but the replies felt like they were written by robots instead of actual people, which made the whole experience feel even more frustrating.

"Messy event and useless support"
The whole event felt disorganized from the start. Check-in took forever, the signs were confusing, and every person I asked seemed just as unsure as I was. For what I paid, I expected way better. I even contacted support afterward and got what felt like a copy-paste response that didn’t really address anything. Left frustrated and annoyed, and I don’t see myself doing another spartan.

"I still had an okay time overall, but..."
I still had an okay time overall, but I was a little let down by the condition of some of the obstacles. A few felt kind of loose or worn down, and it seemed like they could use a bit more upkeep. For the price of the race, I was hoping they’d feel a little sturdier and better maintained. It didn’t completely ruin the experience, but it did take away from the fun a bit.

"Bad timing made the refund rules even more frustrating"
I had really bad timing and needed to either get a refund or defer, but the process was way tougher than I expected. It felt like there wasn’t much flexibility, and getting my money back wasn’t easy at all. Frustrating when life happens at the worst possible moment.

"The fees kinda ruined it"
I was ready to sign up because the price looked decent at first, but then all the extra fees showed up at checkout. It got way more expensive than I expected, and it just felt too pricey in the end.

"Race day was a mess"
Race day was frustrating. Check-in took way longer than it should have, parking was confusing, and the staff didn’t seem to know much about what was going on. I can’t say it wasn’t a hassle from the start...

"Maybe it’s just me, but trying to..."
Maybe it’s just me, but trying to sign up for an event on Spartan was way more frustrating than I expected. I figured it would be a quick registration, but the whole process felt clunky from the start.
The pages were loading slowly, and I kept getting asked for information I’m sure I had already entered. Then extra fees showed up late in the checkout process, which was annoying because by that point I was already trying to wrap things up.

I just wanted to get registered and move on, not spend half an hour clicking around and wondering if my payment actually went through. It definitely wasn’t the best first impression.

"Signing up felt way harder than it should"
I was just trying to sign up for a race, but it turned into a whole thing. The pages were loading slowly, the filters would work one minute and then seem to ignore what I picked the next, and I kept getting bounced back to places I had already been.
What really got frustrating was that it felt like the goalposts kept moving. I’d think I finally found the info I needed, then I’d have to click through another page or redo something again. Maybe it’s smoother on a computer, but on my phone it was a annoying experience.

"I ended up paying more than I..."
I ended up paying more than I thought I would, it didn’t feel like I got much in return. The extra fees started piling up fast, and by the end it just felt really overpriced. What made it more frustrating was dealing with automated systems instead of an actual person when I had questions. I hate getting pushed through menus and canned responses when I’m already annoyed about the cost. I wouldn’t spend that kind of money on this again...

"Safety help was disappointing"
I went to the med tent expecting quick help, but everything felt really slow. On top of that, I kept getting transferred around instead of someone just handling the issue, which was frustrating when I already wasn’t feeling great. It didn’t feel very organized or reassuring

"Wish I’d Looked Closer at the Course Layout"
I really wish I had checked the course layout more carefully before starting. Everything felt too cramped, and it was confusing to follow. I kept having to stop and figure out where I was supposed to go next, which made the whole experience frustrating.

"Feels like support isn’t really there"
I had a problem with my order and reached out to Spartan support a couple of times. I got the automatic email right away, but after that it was just silence for days. My gut feeling was that nobody was actually looking at the messages, which made the whole thing feel off.

I understand companies can get backed up, but even a quick “we’re checking on it” would have made a difference. Instead, I was left guessing and had to keep following up myself. it just felt frustrating and kind of careless.

"I didn’t feel like the training plan was worth it"
I personally didn’t get much out of the training plan. The workouts felt kind of random to me, and when I reached out for support, I never really felt like they helped much.
